Dr. Edward K. S. Chien, MD, MBA, is a distinguished physician in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, bringing an exceptional depth of knowledge to the Cleveland Clinic. His medical career, which encompasses both patient care and research, began with a medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University Hospitals of Cleveland and advanced his expertise with a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at the University of Chicago, complemented by a two-year fellowship in medical genetics.
Dr. Chien, also an MBA graduate, currently chairs the Department of Obstetric and Gynecology Specialists and holds a professorship in Reproductive Biology at CASE Western Reserve University. His clinical focus on prematurity and prenatal ultrasound techniques is coupled with his leadership of the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program. He’s not only a healthcare provider but also a proactive researcher and educator, making significant strides in the understanding and treatment of complex conditions associated with pregnancy.
