About the Doctor

Dr. Jihad Kaouk is an American Board certified urologist as Director of the Center for Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic's Glickman Urology and Kidney Institute. He is also Professor of Surgery at Case Western Reserve University's Clever Clinic Lerner School of Medicine. Having completed his tenure as Director, Dr. Kaouk is Vice President of the Institute for Surgeon Innovation and Chair of the Chair in laparoscopic and robotic surgery at the Glickman Kidney Institute for Urology.

Dr. Kaouk performed several groundbreaking surgical procedures, including the first robotic single-port surgery from the belly button in 2008 and the first complete transvaginal kidney removal in 2009. Dr. Kaouk has one of the greatest experiences in robotic surgery in the country, with more than 2500 robotic radical prostatectomies and nearly 900 robotic partial nephrectomies performed in the last 20 years.

Dr. Kaouk's special interests include kidney cancer, prostate cancer, mbladder cancer, adrenal cancer, laparoscopic and robotic surgery for kidney donation.
