Dr. Madhusudhan Sanaka is the Medical Director of the Advanced Endoscopy Center at the Institute of Digestive Diseases and Surgery. His areas of expertise are therapeutic endoscopy, pancreaticobiliary endoscopy, early gastrointestinal cancers and difficult polypectomy.
Dr. Sanaka received his medical degree from Osmania Medical School of the University of Health Sciences in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Dr. Sanaka completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York. He also completed a gastroenterology fellowship at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as an Advanced Endoscopy fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Penn. Dr. Sanaka holds a board certificate in the field of Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Sanaka is currently conducting several research studies, including quality improvement and outcomes of Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy for achalasia, adenoma detection rates, long-term efficacy of EMR, and polypectomy techniques.
